One Young Heart...In Turmoil

Days may pass me by….but not childhood memories of the past,
About one such dark, bad and woeful day….my thoughts will last.
Mothers and fathers of this our caring nation…showing their grief,
For the parents and lost children of Aberfan…in horror and disbelief.

This was not a mining accident…deep underground,
But a mountain of coal slack moved…and an avalanche rained down.
No time for warnings as the black soot…buried everything in its way,
And a school full of happy children…were robbed of life that day.

Mothers and fathers digging with bare hands…albeit in vain,
As their quest to rescue their trapped children…ended in grief and strain.
Their poor little children…engulfed in a sea of soot and coal slack,
As their anguish and pain grips their bodies…and no tears held back.

Bereaved parents with gaunt and horror filled faces...complete the picture,
As they try to come to terms with losing a child…destroying the future.
No time to give their lost loved ones…a last kiss or to say goodbye,
Just cuddle their limp and lifeless bodies…as they uncontrollably cry

Such poor and unfortunate little children…will now be playing happily,
As they live their lives in heaven…as little angels they will be.
One hope remains for their parents…giving relief from all their pain,
That one-day they will join them in heaven…and cuddle once again.

Twilight Tears & Memories by Suzanne Marcuslee (Book) in Poetry

www.lulu.com/content/paperback-book/twilight-tears-memories/7621734

A collage of emotions powerfully composed
highlighting how life can be cruel,
rewarding and yet sometimes fulfilling.

Allowing the reader to experience the sorrow,
heartbreak, joy, love and pain endured by those
less fortunate than ourselves around the World.

In a poetic journey that bestows heart-warming tales
of love and affection and the touching tales of
tragedies that have taken place which have tested
the heartstrings of every compassionate soul on
earth .

Lest we should ever forget:

Lady Diana, Aberfan, Dunblane, Jamie Bulger, Columbine
High School and Hungerford.

Now poetically remembered for an eternity.

Lila's Passing Lament

On this cold and still November night…I lie here in despair,
With broken limbs and bleeding brain…unsure if you really care.
Did you really love me….or was I just a toy,
A perfect gift you tired of….something for you to destroy.

Please tell me Mommy and Daddy…why did you break my heart,
And was I that much of an encumbrance…from the very start?
I’m sorry I made you angry with me….sorry I made you cry,
Sorry I pooped and puked so much…of that I will not lie.

It could have been so different…a wonderful life to share,
Content with having few worldly goods…but a love beyond compare.
Spending warm summers in the park…feeling the grass beneath my feet,
Just being part of a loving family…would have made my life complete.

Time is short Mommy and Daddy…my tortured spirit is being set free,
As I feel an angels warm embrace…and our Lord Jesus calling me.
Dry your tears Mommy and Daddy…my pain is now of the past,
As my spirit ascends to a better place…where love is made to last.

Heaven is such a wonderful place…where angelic children play,
As I bask in our Lords aura of love…each and every day.
Drinking our Lords milk of human kindness…with no more tears to cry,
Contented with my heavenly family…as your years of regret pass by.

Hearts Of Valour

Hearts of Valour…Assembling at Gallipoli,
Hearts of Valour…Dreaming of a glorious victory.
Hearts of Valour…Devoid of dread and fear,
Hearts of Valour…The ANZAC of the Southern Hemisphere.

Hearts of Valour…Advancing beneath the burning sun,
Hearts of Valour…Armed with rifle, bayonet and gun.
Hearts of Valour…Obeying the order “ Attack, Attack “,
Hearts of Valour…With no thoughts of turning back.

Hearts of Valour…Falling, dying or clinically dead,
Hearts of Valour…Still advancing where angels fear to tread.
Hearts of Valour…Who lost the battle but won a victory,
Hearts of Valour…By helping create, freedom for you and me.

Hearts of Valour…Ascending to a peaceful heavenly life,
Hearts of Valour…The fallen heroes of mother, father or wife.
Hearts of Valour…Who died alone in incredible pain,
Hearts of Valour…Sacrificing their lives but not in vain.

Hearts of Valour…Should be remembered on April 25th each year,
Hearts of Valour…Deserve our utmost respect and a quiet tear.
Hearts of Valour…We will leave a wreath of poppies for you,
Hearts of Valour…Who gave so much, for so few.

The Star Spangled Banner

As a cool winters breeze...blew across a Colorado plain,
The devils outstretched hand...left a trail of awesome pain.
A once quiet community...with a typical American High School,
Was torn apart with anguish...by an atrocity...so cruel.

Two student loners arrived at the school...armed with rifles..bombs..and gun,
And selected their victims to murder...ignoring the mercy pleas of everyone.
Insane with jealousy...they singled out those with athletic prowess,
Before executing these unfortunate souls...for whom they could not care less.

In a final act of cowardice...they shot themselves and died,
Leaving their parents distraught...whilst their feelings of shame they were unable to hide. Thirteen victims lost their lives...as a result of their heinous crime, robbed of the love of their families...before reaching their prime.

Many others wounded...with both physical and mental scars,
Missing the friends that died that day...now living among the stars.
For whom a life of torment lies ahead...as each nightmare recalls the day,
When friendships were torn apart in death...with no goodbyes to say.

Surely your children’s spirits...are now standing inside Gods Heavenly gate,
Holding hands in peace and happiness...as a result of this twist of fate.
Dreaming that the gun laws will change...so that they did not die in vain,
With a hope that...that their parents will be the last to feel such awesome pain.

As the Star Spangled Banner...sounds a parting riposte,
We will pray for you all...and the children you have lost.
In the hope that we can relieve some of the anguish you are going through,
Until God takes you by the hand and re-unites you all...with the ones you loved so true.
